Our Instructors
Our philosophy of teaching is to enable each of our students to set and internalize goals and to utilize their full potential in that pursuit. We teach each member as if they were our own family. Positive motivation combined with our unique reward system, which is built into our goal based belt promotion system, makes goal setting a habit not just an experience.
It's one thing for a person to say they teach leadership, motivation and achievement, however, it is another to have actually done so, and on a consistent basis with groups of people of various abilities.
To truly teach others the qualities of leadership, motivation and achievement, a teacher must have the real life experience in bringing out the best in others.

one of the highest Jidokwan Dan ranks issued to American born Taekwondo practitioners in the USA.

Grandmaster Al Cole was entered as a member of Jidokwan, Korea in 1985.

Over 20 years after entrance into Taekwondo Jidokwan, Grandmaster Cole renews his membership pledge with over 350 Masters
from over 100 nations during the 60th Anniversary of Jidokwan, held March 1, 2006 in Seoul, Korea.

Special Citation awarded to Grandmaster Cole by Taekwondo Jidokwan, March 1, 2006.

Grandmaster Al Cole became affiliated with the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) in 1987. From January 2000 until January 2002, he was President of the WTF in Ohio, aka, Ohio State Taekwondo Association/Union (OTA/OSTU) the State Association member of the United States Taekwondo Union (USTU) and member of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC).
Grandmaster Al Cole is also one of the few instructors that teach and understand the WHOLE of the Kukkiwon Taekwondo curriculum. Unlike most other instructors who keep changing what they teach over the years, jumping for odd one-off creations to the other and making up and founding their own so-called Taekwondo styles, when there is only one Taekwondo, causing great confusion in their students.
For the past 20 years Grandmaster Cole has encouraged Taekwondo instructors in Ohio, other States and other Nations to embrace the Kukkiwon curriculum of "Shihap Kyorugi", "Taegeuk Poomsae", "Kyukpa" and "Mom-makki." In 1998, he was the first instructor in USA to publicly write about the need to adhere to a Taekwondo Standard that was set by Kukkiwon - Korea, back in 1971. Now 10 years later, instructors in the Greater Cleveland area, as well as the USA, and the World are embracing this standard and changing their curriculums to align more closely with that of Kukkiwon in Korea.
